(from right to left) Kelly, Mark, Koa & Skyler - "I am Kelly Golter, the founder of The Handicap App. My personal experience with mobility loss ignited my passion to advocate for others facing similar struggles. Through 5 years of challenges, surgeries, and advocacy, I learned the vital importance of accessible solutions for individuals with disabilities. The Handicap App is born from my story, aiming to provide the support needed for millions like myself".

For five years, I couldn’t walk. My nightmare began during covid, two weeks after taking the vaccine. After several failed surgeries, I fought a relentless infection keeping me bedridden, stealing my independence and diminishing my hope. By the grace of God I endured this trial with a loving family at my side. When I could finally walk again, I realized the battle wasn’t over — not for me, and not for millions of Americans with disabilities. During those years, and while caregiving for my mother after her femur fracture, I discovered how broken access really is: circling parking lots for one open handicap space, never knowing if an electric wheelchair would be available or charged, facing blank stares instead of friendly service, and walking into hotels, restaurants, and businesses only to find steps, narrow aisles, or restrooms I couldn’t use. No person in this great country should suffer that indignity. That’s why I created The Handicap App. My mission is to empower every person with a disability, so they never endure what I did. We’re putting everything under one umbrella: on-demand wheelchair delivery to your parking spot, peer-verified accessibility ratings with photos, and a community where the disabled can chat, share tips, and post reviews that pressure service companies to do better. This is how we turn lived pain into progress — and deliver independence, dignity, and access without barriers. Please help me continue this fight for millions of Americans who simply deserve better.
